Phumzile Mnguni, is the IANRA Project Officer, she has been working for the organisation since 2013 and has 8 years of experience in the non-profit sector, she first joined the organisation as an intern and since then she grew to progressively responsible positions. Her credentials include: building relationships with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the Pan-African Parliament, SADC Parliamentary Forum and South African legislatures and government officials, supporting research and policy work on the impact of mining on human, community and women’s rights and she participated in the development of IANRA’s Model Law on Mining on Community Land in Africa, including support of case study research in 5 countries, educational activities related to the model law.

Wole Olaleye is the IANRA Coordinator. He has several decades of experience in the development sector with specific focus on programme management, policy advocacy and campaigns. He has occupied (inter alia) the following positions: Programme Manager, Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS), Director of Research, Food Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN), Head of Policy and Campaigns, ActionAid South Africa and Research Fellow, Centre for Democracy in Africa Research Unit (DARU), University of Cape Town. He holds a M.Phil in Social Science Research Methodology from the University of Stellenbosch and has published widely in the areas of democratisation in Africa, post-war reconstruction and the role of elections in democratisation planning to name but a few.

Abu Augustus Brima is a Sierra Leonean Development Practitioner and Human Rights Advocate with over three decades of productive and successful experience in facilitating the growth and development of a number of national, continental and global civil society organizations, networks and social movements. He specializes in organizational development, strategic thinking, conflict transformation and peace building, social movement building and transformative leadership development using the human rights lens.
Abu A. Brima is the founder and Executive Director of the leading national Civil Society Organization in Sierra Leone, the Network Movement for Justice and Development (NMJD); he helped in establishing and steering the Natural Resource Governance and Economic Justice Network (NaRGEJ), the National Civil Society Forum of Sierra Leone, Budget Advocacy Network (BAN), the national Coalition for Community Legal Empowerment (NaCCLE), the Mano River Union Civil Society Natural Resource Rights and Governance Platform, the Kimberley Process Civil Society Coalition; a strategic member of the Economic Social and Cultural Rights Network (ESCR-Net) etc. In Sierra Leone Abu Brima represents Civil Society on the Sierra Leone Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative Multi-Stakeholders Group (SLEITI-MSG), Commission for the Consolidation of Peace (CCP), the national Minerals Advisory Board (MAB).
A strong believer in social justice, citizen empowerment, transformation of society and accountable servant-leadership, Abu is a linchpin of many social movements and civil society networks and coalitions in Sierra Leone and outside. He has served as a resource person and led many civil society networks to participate in national and continental initiatives including the Lome Peace Accord, Sierra Leone PRSPs, the National Conference on Transformation and Development, Natural Resource Benchmarking, Mining Policy and Legislative Reviews, African Mining Vision Action planning to name but a few.

Allan Cain is the founding director of Development Workshop Angola. He is an architect, specialist in project management, participatory planning, sustainable urban development and water & sanitation. He has lived and worked in the Middle East and Africa for the last 40 years and has acquired a deep understanding of the local environment and development initiatives. He has a degree in Environmental Studies, did his professional studies at the Architectural Association (London, UK) and further specialist studies at Harvard University and Bolder, Colorado. He has worked as a consultant and lead research projects for the UN Habitat the European Union and other international organisations. He is the DW project leader on the International Development Research Centre supported programme on Climate Change, Flooding and Water-Supply in Angola's Coastal Cities. He has been a Visiting Professor at the School for International Development and Global Studies at the University of Ottawa and he has lectured at universities in Angola, Canada, China, Norway, USA, South Africa and UK. Emem Okon is a feminist activist, grassroots mobilizer, gender specialist, social change advocate, pan-africanist and a development practitioner who has successfully led grassroots campaigns in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria and in the African region with over 20 years experience in the non-profit sector and specializes in practical issues associated with gender, women empowerment, grassroots mobilization, Climate Change, budget monitoring, women peace and security, leadership, gender and extractives, advocacy campaigns and development practices as it affects women in rural communities.
Emem is the Director of the Port Harcourt Study Centre of the Centre-LSD Leadership School. She a Co-Founder of Women Initiative on Climate Change(WICC) a grassroots network of community women groups working on gender and climate change issues to amplify voices of community women groups on impact of climate change on women. She is on the Board of Trustees as well as the Regional Steering Committee of WoMIN Africa Gender and Extractive Alliance an African regional women-led alliance of women organizations and community women groups working on gender and extractives to challenge corporate power and project the voices of community women groups on impact of negative and destructive resource extraction.
Emem is currently the Founder and Executive Director of Kebetkache Women Development & Resource Centre; a member of the NEITI Civil Society Steering Committee in Nigeria , She is also a member, Steering Committee, International Alliance for Natural Resources in Africa (IANRA). Emem is also one of the Alternate members of the Governing Council to HYPREP on the implementation of the UNEP report on Ogoniland.
Before she founded Kebetkache Women Development & Resource Centre, she was the Rivers State Coordinator of Women in Nigeria and the Program Coordinator Niger Delta Women for Justice a grassroots Pan-Niger Delta women’s movement. She has been involved in many women advocacy campaigns and coordinated many networks in the south south geo-political zone including being the South south zonal coordinator of West African Network for Peace-Building (WANEP); Chairperson of the Coordinating Council of the CSO Alliance on SGDs; Rivers State Deputy Coordinator of Coalition of Eastern NGOs.
Emem received the Sisterhood award from Women International Center, USA in 2012 and in March 2019, she received the Women Have Wings of Courage award from the Tides Foundation USA. She is a Deaconess and a Director in Royal House of Grace International Church. She was also honoured with the title of ETI-UFAN from the Duke Royal House of Cross River State in 2017 in recognition of her contributions to women empowerment and development. She won the Justice Builder of the Year 2019 Award from the NCMG Peace Awards.

A Social Development Specialist with vast experience in community development. With more than ten years’ experience in the Civil Society Sector in Zimbabwe Emilia brings on board knowledge and skills in Results Based Project Design, Management, Monitoring and Evaluation. Very well versed with Strategic planning, Lobbying and Advocacy and working with mining impacted communities particularly women and children
My major focus areas as a Development Specialist have been around promoting democracy, enhancing good governance, strengthening movements of social change, promoting education and ensuring protection of women and children against any forms of violence and exploitation. I have over the years contributed towards empowering societies, particularly women and children to be self-determining and enjoy their rights whilst fully participating in and benefiting from socio-economic development initiatives.
I sit on the Board of Women and Land in Zimbabwe (WLZ) as the Chair Person. I also sit on the Board of International Alliance on Natural Resources in Africa (IANRA) as Vice Chairperson. Previously I have served on the Board of Island Hospice Zimbabwe 2013-2016.

I am an all rounder Human right activist. My experience and general foundation stems from media in general which includes indelible contribution to community media. Not only was this contribution colossal, it was a humbling experience, which led to an establishment founded and focused on communication. This establishment was instrumental in refocusing and giving my career strong foundations. Whilst, I no longer belong to the establishment, I can attest that the overwhelming experience gather then remain a guiding compass.
I suit a profile of a contemporary multi-cultural activist. I have had a benefit of being exposed invariably to different cultures through my present work and an opportunity to travel and stay beyond South African boarders. I remain and inquisitive person with the capabilities to fuses activism and research.
